Beginner-friendly calisthenics, rings and handstand training for women in York.

Calm Strength Playground is a women-only strength class for anyone who is curious about bodyweight skills but doesn’t know where to start.

You do not need to be able to do a pull-up, press-up, handstand or anything fancy to join. This is where we build the strength, confidence and control from the ground up.

Each session blends calisthenics foundations, rings, hangs, handstand drills, core compression, mobility and playful skill work, all taught in a calm, supportive environment.

Expect upper-body strength, core work, grip strength, balance, laughter, and plenty of “I didn’t think I could do that” moments.

This is serious strength made safe enough to try.

No gym-bro chaos. No pressure to perform. No need to arrive already strong.

Just a small group of women learning how capable their bodies can be.

Booking is essential as this is a strictly small group class and numbers are limited.

We track strength, confidence, energy, self-trust, and the tiny wins your brain tries to skip over.

Ongoing support and accountability
I’ll check in with your progress, make adjustments when needed, and help you stay consistent without all-or-nothing thinking.

Hybrid coaching for women who want in-person guidance and a clear plan between sessions.

This is for you if you want support with your technique, confidence, and progression, but also need a programme you can follow independently.

You’ll have one in-person PT session each month, plus a tailored online programme, video form feedback, and ongoing support so you are not left guessing between sessions.

The in-person session gives us space to coach your movement properly, build confidence with lifts or skills, and explore the kind of strength work that is hard to learn from a screen alone. We might refine your squat, rebuild trust in your hip, practise loaded mobility, test balance, explore carries, or gently scratch that “I wonder if I could…” itch.

Independent Path

Online coaching for women who want a personalised plan, expert feedback, and support while training on their own.

This is for you if you are ready to train independently, but you do not want a generic programme or another plan that ignores your body, energy, schedule, confidence, or real life.

You’ll receive a tailored monthly programme with three sessions per week, video form feedback, and regular support to help you build strength safely and consistently.

Your plan is built around you: your goals, your body, your current ability, your available time, your confidence, and the kind of support you need to keep going.

This is not about making training complicated.
It is about making it feel possible.

You’ll build strength, mobility, consistency, and confidence through a plan that gives you enough structure to feel held, and enough space to feel like a human.

And yes, there can still be room for play.

Not forced fun. Not gym-class chaos. More like small moments of curiosity: trying a new movement, noticing a new range, testing a controlled balance, adding a challenge that makes your body feel awake again.
